Dev Ops / Cloud Support Engineer

We are a rapidly growing web development company who are building enterprise back end systems and web solutions for the corporate sector in the USA using proven open source technologies. We have designed and built large scale geo distributed deployments capable of handling sustained queries in the 1000+ per second range while also building many sites in the consumer publishing, e-commerce and mobile space. We are now looking to hire now seek to hire a Dev Ops / Cloud Support Engineer to join our talented and expanding team in Castletroy, Limerick. This is a hybrid role, however the role can also be worked on a remote basis within Ireland, with bi-weekly trips to the team in Limerick.

Job description:

• Managing Kubernetes clusters to serve a diverse range of customers, handling both legacy and cloud-based solutions.
• Diagnosing and resolving issues in a cloud application setting.
• Interacting directly with clients.
• Perform upgrades and deployments.
• Collaborate with sys admin and development teams to investigate and troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior team members.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AWS and other related cloud technologies.

Candidate profile:

• Educated to degree level in Computer Science or related field.
• Native level fluency in spoken English required.
• Candidates should have an EC passport or a current Irish Stamp 4 work permit.
• Career level is circa 4 – 6 years relevant professional work experience in software engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues in a cloud application setting, along with exceptional communication abilities, suited for interacting directly with clients.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a CSE or Site Reliability Engineer role, supporting Apache/Tomcat/MySQL/Percona in AWS.
• Experience with Linux / Ubuntu, Bash, Git, Kubernetes, Solr.
• Strong AWS experience.
• Exposure to Zabbiz/Datadog or Graylog desirable but not essential.
