IT Service Desk Technician
Our client is looking to hire an IT Service Desk Technician to join their IT Team. This is a full-time permanent role, it is fully onsite in their facility in County Limerick. In this role, you will be troubleshooting technical issues, providing timely customer feedback, and supporting the roll-out of new applications, among other duties. Attractive salary plus benefits (21 days annual leave, Life Assurance and Eligibility for Healthcare & Pension after 6 months.)
As the office location in County Limerick is NOT accessible by, or within walking distance of public transport, candidates must have a car and have a full clean driving licence.
Responsibilities:
- Interacting with end-users face to face, over the phone or by e-mail to assist in troubleshooting technical issues.
- Record, update and document incidents and requests in the Service Desk ticketing system.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot all supported computer operating systems, software and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, thin clients, mobile phones etc.).
- Supporting the roll-out of new applications.
- Testing and evaluating new technologies.
- Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and configuration.
- Ensure all issues are properly logged.
- Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time.
- Document technical knowledge for our Knowledge base.
- There is an on-call rota, which the employee will join once they have achieved a sufficient level of support knowledge. They will be on call for a week at a time and are eligible for an on-call payments and additional call out payments if there are call outs.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, be technically skilled, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role.
- Career level is 2 – 4 years relevant IT support experience.
- Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
- Experience in working under Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Ability to be flexible to work after hours as required and be on an on-call schedule
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Native level fluency in spoken English required.
- ITIL Certification is desirable.
