Senior Business Analyst
We are a world leading financial services group, and due to continued expansion, we have an immediate requirement for a Senior Business Analyst. This is a one year contract. We have offices in Shannon in County and in Dublin city centre and this role may be based in either location at your preference. The role is a hybrid role, based onsite in either location for Mon – Thursday, and work from home on Fridays.
Role:
The Senior Business Analyst will work on the design and development of Windows and web-based applications, liaising with business partners and IT colleagues. The role will also involve process definition and optimization, implementation and change management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of existing system and application landscape, as a building block for future integrated solutions (Document the as-is).
- Analyse business process and requirements change and transfer the knowledge to the development and test team (User Stories).
- Collaborate with IT colleagues from Architecture, Infrastructure, OnShore & OffShore Development, Test and Desktop Support.
- Liaise with peer system owners to ensure any impacts are properly understood, documented, and mitigated against from an up and downstream perspective.
- Support business users through User Acceptance Testing.
- Prepare accurate and detailed requirements documentation and functional specifications.
- Prepare accurate and detailed high-level estimates as part of the Demand Evaluation process.
- Communicate effectively with the business, the development and test team to understand functional requirements (e.g., screen, interface, report, GUI designs), and to ensure the solution meets these.
- Coordinate with the business users who test and evaluate applications, and resolve software issues, in conjunction with developers and testers where appropriate.
- Manage any change requests related to the working project plans to meet the agreed deadlines.
- Investigate data discrepancies and perform ad-hoc database queries as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all organisational, legal and regulatory requirements and standards including SOX compliance and Security.
Candidate profile:
- Educated to a degree level in Information Technology or Sciences
- Fluent spoken English, be currently based in Ireland and be already authorised to work freely for any employer in Ireland.
- Career level is 8 – 12 years experience, with at least 4 years professional experience as an IT business analyst.
- Background in software development with experience of working in an Agile development environment.
- Good understanding of Cloud technology and integration frameworks.
- Experience in Business Process and Data Modelling
- Experience of estimating effort and input into project planning
- Good understanding of relational databases and data models.
- Experience of Jira and/or Confluence.
Desirable (but not essential skills) include:
- Background of working in the financial services sector.
- Experience of working in a large delivery programme
- Knowledge of IT-compliance (SOX) and operational excellence models
