Microsoft Dynamics 365 Solution Architect

We are a leading aircraft engine leasing company with a significant global presence, and with a best-in-class IT team. Due to continued growth globally, we have an immediate requirement for a Dynamics 365/Power Platform Solution Architect to join our IT team in Shannon. This is a newly created role, it is a full-time permanent position with attractive salary generous benefits package, including bonus, healthcare insurance, pension, free lunch, gym, 26 days’ vacation etc. This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week onsite.

 

Role:
This pivotal role involves leading both internal and external software development teams, ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of our customized Microsoft Dynamics 365 with Power Platform and Power BI for comprehensive reporting. My client is prepared to consider candidates already based in Ireland or in Europe who require work visa sponsorship, if they are a very strong skills/experience match.

• Lead the architecture, development, and integration efforts for our Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform environments, ensuring robust, secure, and efficient system performance.
• Guide and mentor both internal and external development teams, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Continuously evaluate and improve business processes through the innovative use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, driving efficiency and effectiveness across all operational facets.
• Design and implement solutions, including custom applications using PowerApps, automated workflows with Power Automate, data analytics with Power BI, and AI solutions with Power Virtual Agents.
• Work closely with the Information Security team to embed cyber security best practices into all development phases and system architectures, maintaining alignment with ISO27001 and SOX compliance requirements.

Candidate profile:

This position requires a mix of technical expertise, business acumen, and project management skills to ensure that the solutions meet the business requirements and are implemented successfully within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, with a background in software development in an Agile environment.

A strong emphasis on partnership with our Information Security (InfoSec) team is crucial, to ensure all developments and architectural designs uphold the highest standards of cyber security and compliance with ISO27001 and SOX regulations.

• Educated to a degree level in Information Technology or Sciences
• Fluent spoken English, be currently based in Ireland or in Europe.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and design innovative data solutions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies and committed to implementing best practices in software development and data management.
• Ability to design solution architectures that are scalable, resilient, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Proven experience as a Dynamics 365 Platform Solution Architect or similar role.
• Expertise in system architecture and development within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 applications, including customization, configuration, and extension.
• Experience with integrating Dynamics 365 with other business systems is essential.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, OData, and custom connectors for integrating Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions with external systems.
• Knowledge of security models, data protection policies, and compliance standards relevant to Dynamics 365 and Power Platform deployments.

 

Desirable but not essential skills include:

• Strong experience in designing and developing solutions using PowerApps (both canvas and model-driven), Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents.
• Background in software development (ideally in the enterprise Microsoft environment eg.NET, C#, JavaScript etc.)  
• Understanding of data modelling principles and experience with Common Data Service (CDS), including creating and managing custom entities, relationships, and fields.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Finance and/or Microsoft Business Central.
• Knowledge of Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and other Azure services that integrate with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Relevant certifications in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
