Senior IT Engineer – Network & Security (Limerick/remote with Ireland)

Our client is a well established international company in the fast paced international telecoms software sector. They have a large software development centre in Limerick City, and due to continued expansion, they have retained PBRecruitment to hire a Senior IT Engineer – Network & Security. This role can be based onsite in Limerick or fully remote with Ireland. Attractive package on offer including pension, VHI, 25 days holidays etc.

Job description:

You will be responsible for driving performance, reliability, and technical problem resolution for network infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design, set up and configuration of complex switching environments and wireless networking, you will also assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS and WINS EtherChannel (Bonding etc.) You will also create and maintain policies and operational procedures/interface registers and High Level and Low Level Design and technical documentation (written and diagrammatic.) Your role will also involve configuring and setup of Cisco Firewalls, VPN tunnels and Security appliances, ensuring access to vital business applications.

 

Required skills and experience:

• Strong background in providing IT network (LAN & WAN) support
• CCNA and/or CCNP certification
• Proven experience maintaining LAN and WAN infrastructure
• Experience maintaining network security through proper configuration of VPN and Firewalls
• Appreciation and knowledge of ITIL standards

Desirable:

• Experience maintaining load balancers
• CISCO AnyConnect VPN client knowledge
• Telecommunications industry sector experience
• Knowledge of VMWare hypervisor technologies
